Lydia Watkins

Lydia Watkins grew up in North Dakota and started taking piano lessons at age nine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Valley City State University in 2023. During her time at VCSU she maintained private piano studio at the Community School of the Arts. She also had the opportunity to collaborate with the VCSU choir, singers, and instrumentalists. She has participated in festivals and competitions including the ND MTNA state competition and Bismarck-Mandan Concerto
Competition.

 

Currently Lydia is pursing in her Masters in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at the University of Northern Iowa. As a graduate assistant she teaches Group Piano courses and collaborates with singers and instrumentalists. She is a member of Music Teachers’ National Association and Iowa Music Teachers’ Association.
