Liudmila Lebedeva

Liudmila Lebedeva, graduated from School of Music in Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences of the University of Northern Iowa with MM in 2012. Recently, she participated cello section in Des Moines Symphony, Waterloo- Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, Wartburg Community Orchestra, and was a principal cellist of NISO. During last two years she took several ensemble and solo master-classes with American and Europe musicians such as Amit Peled, Suren Bagratuni, Faure Piano Quartet, Mark Votapek, Richard Aaron, Mr. Anibal Dos Santos.

     

Liudmila Lebedeva received her master of Music degree in Cello Performance from the State Comservatory of Nyzhny Novgorod in 2004 and Saint-Petersburg state University, Smolny Insitute in 2009. She has experienced equally with chamber (“Soloists of Nyzhny Novgorod”) and symphony orchestra (Saint-Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra) performances even chamber ensembles.  Liudmila performed with various orchestras of Central Russia in Nyzhny Novgorod, Arhangelsk, Penza, Kostroma and Kirov. The spectrum of her music interests covers contemporary, baroque, classical and romantic music periods. As a result of working with contemporary composers and experimental contemporary ensemble projects (with drums, bayan, voice, choir, brass ensembles), she premiered music for international festivals “Kafka in music’ (Russia, Austria, 2004) and “Pictures from Exhibition” (Russia, Switzerland, 2005).

 

     Ludmila Lebedeva took several master classes:  at the string quartet mentored by Galkovskiy (Moscow Conservatory, viola), A. Pecelberger (Austria, Linz cello) and as a soloist she took master-classes mentored by E.Rovner (Switzerland, cello) and Hillegard Perl (Bremen, viola-da-gamba).

Her teaching career began during her studying at UNI, and mostly it was private teaching. Her teaching method is based on European and Russian traditions.
