Chandar Boyle
Chandar Boyle studied Piano Performance and
received her bachelor’s in Music Composition from UCLA,
and later returned to school in 2016 to study Piano Pedagogy
at UNI. She has maintained an active piano studio since
1995, and enjoys teaching all ages from preschool-adults.
Her students enjoy participating in a variety of festivals and
studio recitals throughout the year including Federation
Festival, Clavinova Festival, STAC, IMTA, Festival of
Trees, and Rock Band Recital.
Chandar was raised on the Suzuki method, starting at the
age of 3, and therefore values ear training and solid
technique, but also the importance of reading and
interpreting music notation. Because of her extensive
background with worship music and composition, she enjoys
incorporating elements of improvisation and chordal
harmonization into lessons. Overall, lessons are tailored to
each student’s strengths and preferred styles of music with
the ultimate goal of being a well-rounded musician with a
life-long love of music.
Chandar also has a passion to see students enjoying their
gifts in the context of the local church, school, and other
ensembles. This is what drove her desire to build Music Hill
Studios, a place where students can play together in variety
of ensembles and rock bands, and where teachers can
collaborate and encourage one another in our quest for
musical excellence.
